The word “Manipur” is a Sanskrit word. It is made up of two words; “Mani” which means “Jewel” and “pur” which means “a city” or “a place”.

The Secret Location of the Solar Plexus Chakra

Solar Plexus Chakra is the 3rd Chakra and is located behind the navel. It is called Solar Plexus in English because the part of the body around the navel is called Solar Plexus. Solar Plexus is a complex system of nerves in the pit of the stomach which maintains the body’s metabolism and fight or flight response.  The Solar Plexus is supported by the Lumber Curve Vertebrae.

The Lumber Curve Vertebrae is the part of the spinal column right in the body’s midline, opposite the navel. The Lumber Curve Vertebrae consists of 5 very strong and flexible bones.

This vertebrae absorbs pressure which lifting heavy objects and supports the weight of the upper body above navel and provides flexibility in the truck area; shoulders, chest, back, and abdomen area. Since the Solar Plexus Chakra is located here, the chakra is associated personal power and power control.

As mentioned above, since this chakra is located at the Solar Plexus and the function of Solar Plexus Chakra also happens to be the same ; to maintain metabolism. To elaborate, maintains the digestive enzymes, and regulates digestive organs like; Salivary glands, Pharynx, Esophagus, Stomach, Liver, Gallbladder, Pancreas, Small and large Intestines and Rectum.

The  symbol of the Solar Plexus is a lotus with 10 petals.

The 10 petals of the Sacral Chakra represent the 10 vital forces.

There are 5 Major Forces and 5 Minor Forces.

These forces are called “Vayu” in Sanskrit which means “Air” in general context but it means subtle energy in the spiritual context.

The five major forces are :

Prana Vayu : Prana Vayu means the Vital life energy which is our breath; oxygen .

Apana Vayu : Apana Vayu means the Descending energy which is our  Urine, seminal fluids and defecation is controlled by the descending energy.

Udana Vayu : Adana Vayu means the Ascending energy which is our voice.

Samana Vayu: Samana Vayu means the Thermal energy; the digestive heat of the stomach.

Vyana Vayu: Vyana Vayu means the Diffusive energy which is responsible for circulating blood to and oxygen to all parts of the body.

The five minor forces are :

Naga: Naga regulates all upwards wind movement from your stomach. For example; burping

Kurma: Kurma regualtes all abnormal wind movement through the nose.For example ; sneezing

Krkara: Krkara regualtes the of blinking of the eyes.

Devadatta: Devadatta regulates the yawning .

Dhananjaya: Dhananjaya regulates the health of the skin of our body.

Meditation on Sacral chakra results in a healthy manifestation of the 6 petals of the lotus.

The Sacral Chakra is represented by yellow color. The yellow symbolizes the color of fire which is the indication heat for digestion and metabolism and the rising consciousness because the flame of fire always goes up.

The Solar Plexus Chakra and The Mental body

The Solar Plexus chakra is associated with the Mental body which is the 3rd layer of the Aura from the physical body. Stimulation of this chakra expands the Mental body and promotes positive thoughts and cognitive (mental) state.

The Solar Plexus Chakra and The Endocrine Glands

The Solar Plexus chakra is associated with the Pancreas (a part of Endocrine Glands). An active Solar Plexus chakra means a healthy Pancreas. The Pancreas is located in the abdomen and its function is to convert the eaten food into fuel for the body and to produce Insulin.

Insulin is a hormone what balances glucose (sugar) level in the body.

Element of the Solar Plexus Chakra

The Solar Plexus chakra is associated with the Fire Element because at the Sacral chakra, the vital energy has the nature of fire. As discussed above, it creates heat in the body to digest food and maintain metabolism. Fire is a symbol of determination. So, if out vital energy is moving up though this chakra, we develop determination and are more likely to meet our set goals.

The Solar Plexus Chakra and the Bodily Sense

The Solar Plexus chakra is associated with the sense of the sight because as discussed the element of Solar Plexus Chakra is fire. Fire is the source of light (The Sun is a big ball of fire which gives light to us). Now, can we see (have sight) without light. No, we can’t. That is one of the reasons why the Solar Plexus is associated with the sight.

The Mysterious Sounds and Mantra of the Solar Plexus Chakra.

The Solar Plexus chakra vibrates at the frequency of 323.63 Hertz. So, listening or humming along music in E Note music ( A Note tuned in 432 hertz ) can stimulate this chakra. The mantra of this chakra is LAM.
