What is Meditation?

Meditation is a practice that brings us into total awareness and takes us beyond thoughts or feelings but not by avoiding them but by understanding them bit by bit and breath by breath.

How easy is Meditation for a beginner?

The process of learning meditation is really simple. However, the very simplicity makes it complicated for the modern mind to learn it because it has been conditioned to solve only complicated problems and ignore simple facts of life right from childhood.

Today, society promotes competition (Hatred & Jealousy) rather than cooperation (Love & Compassion) and acknowledges chasing the future and achievements rather than being here and now and relaxation. For a mind that is programmed in such an environment, it is challenging to unlearn the old habits and learn a new lifestyle but not impossible.

Once Siddhartha Buddha was asked a question by a disciple.

Buddha, what have you gained from your meditation?”

Buddha gently replied, “I have gained nothing. I have only lost. I have lost; anxieties, insecurity, fear of old age and death.”

Meditation takes away what is not yours but what you suppose are your assets and gives you what is truly yours which is already with you.

  • Meditation takes away your assumption that you are a body and with that all the physical problems like; breathing problem, digestion problem, low stamina, weak immunity, and many others.
  • Meditation takes away your perception that you are a mind and with that all the mental issues like; anxiety, depression, insomnia, fear, and many others.
  • Meditation gives you what is already yours, the essence of your being like; love, compassion, empathy, emotional intelligence, longevity and many more.
